A very solid 3-1 evening last night in hockey albeit marred by Buatfalo’s embarrassing 7-0 loss. I went back through the season playa today wondering if I had Buffalo too highly rated and its possible given how poorly they are currently playing, but we are positive on them for the year as well as last season.

Looking like only one play at the moment. You get the feeling that sports gambling was essentially invented for games like the one we are going to be taking tonight. A few drunk guys looking at each other minutes before face-off, with one blurting out “if we don’t put money on this game I may get into a fight with the mascot just for something to do.” We are scratching and clawing in our efforts for a first winning month in eons. Let’s see if we can get some upstate New York-love.

Two losers last night. Single play so far today Montreal -120 @ Columbus. Flyers may be worth a punt at around 170 or so but I’m not planning on unloading there or anything.
January 13
Very excited here in New York for the Islanders-Rangers affair about to start in 30 minutes or so. It should be the best matchup of the day along with a recovering Tampa at Boston. Islanders +120 may be a play along with Buffalo +175. One confirmed play and that’s in a later game, Ottawa +130 @ Dallas. Updates on the 7:00 games here shortly.
UPDATE: No Islanders/Rangers action other than ‘Will Alain Vigneault raise his voice during the 1st period?’ NO -200, though we would be on Islanders +120 if it were available. Still should be at some friendly sites. Also a likely loser: Detroit @ Buffalo +180

I had nothing bettable yesterday and again today on a light schedule across all sports. The contrarian in me wanted to take OSU +6 because literally everyone including Sean below who is very good all like Oregon tonight. I would have taken them at 7 were it available and there may be some value in OSU to win outright at +200 or so.
Hopefully some action tomorrow.

Going with Oregon tonight +7 as well as a teaser with the over (73). I just think Mariota > Cardale Jones and that will be the difference.

I am leaning on Seattle at home (-7.5 -105) early. We also have them winning the NFC at 13/2. I should hedge with GB but Rodgers is banged up and we’re one hit away from the Matt Flynn experience, and that’s a serious possibility considering how Seattle hits.
Surprised the Pats/Colts line isn’t at around -8.5 to -10 considering that the Colts have been outscored in their last 3 games vs the Patriots 144-68.

January 11
Mixed day again yesterday. 1-1 for a profit in hockey and 1-2 for a loss in NBA. I didn’t have any NFL action yesterday and also didn’t understand all the freaking out over the Patriots yesterday and somewhat again today. It’s not like the Ravens are actually the Raiders wearing purple unis. If your team plays like shit for the 1st half and is only down by 7 and nearly ended up only down 3, that’s a good outcome.
Nothing looks very good today. There might be some small value on the Pakcers moneyline if it gets down near -200 or so, but otherwise it’s probably a pass. Phoenix +5 in NBA in an early option, but nearing midseason I’m a very sad 13-16-2 -4.1. NHL is a positive 39-45-1 +4.44
