Month: June 2014
Monday
A quiet weekend and likely a quiet evening again on a semi-busy Monday. While I would prefer getting more plays in, it’s better to pass than to lose. San Diego and Minnesota are the leaners tonight with nothing doing for the 7PM games. USA price is looking pretty tempting for tomorrow.
“Ole, Ole”? More like, “Parlay, Parlay!”
3-0 on the picks posted here last night; and I also had a fun hedge profit situation as before the Chile-Brazil game I took 2-1 result with Alexis Sanchez scoring at 100-to-1. He scored in the 31st to tie the game at 1, and I immediately hedged the 1-1 result (+425), the draw in the first half (+325) and second (+135) halves in live betting for a 70% ROI. Not bad.
We continue the degeneracy today as I am taking the Netherlands (EVEN), Costa Rica (+155) and putting both in a parlay (+250). Let’s hope Holland can win the first leg so I can hedge again, as I have always wanted to say, “Welp, it looks like I need to put money on the Greeks in the second game”, and not poop myself afterwards in fear.
Good luck today.
Saturday
Apologies for the lack of posts the past few days. Real life intruding again. No baseball plays for Thursday or Friday. 22-17 +6.41 as we approach July which is pretty acceptable. For World Cup, I am very tempted to go all underdog this weekend and take Chile, Uruguay, Mexico and Greece but I still do not have the public data & line movement info for soccer that I need to be at all confident getting a solid play in. I did hit on both England and France in the group stage, failing to advance and winning respectively, so I am 2-0 +2.41 there.
Baseball updates today, if any, to be posted here.
UPDATE: Braves (Halle) @ Phillies (O’Sullivan) +110

World Cup Today
Interesting intel here from Twellman about today’s game in Recife:
There is no chance that this rain storm hasn't water logged the field. Problem is nobody knows because not a single soul can get there.

I have since taken the under 2.5 at +110, and also the draw at +210 and two results: Germany 1-0 at (13-2) and the Draw at 1-1 (4-1)
Also as a side note, the Russia-Algeria game was my pre-tourney pick of “game most likely to be fixed” – but these teams actually play for something today! Also have been mildly impressed by Algeria, and have taken them at +220.
We’ll end with Pat Darts’ fav twitter account:

Wednesday
It is my hope that this World Cup educates Americans as to why draws (aka ties) are a suitable result for a low scoring game. The US draw against Portugal was gut-wrenchingly awful, yet the same result against Germany would be a definite success. Smart money is staying away from the early games tomorrow. I am 2-0 this World Cup with Argentina still alive. No baseball today as the line move on the Cubs did not go our way.
WC today
Honduras +1 at +130 and Under 2.5 +130 (v Swiss)
Iran/Bosnia Over 2.5 +150
Dzeko to score +110
Tuesday
Just brilliant with the biting winner and Colombia/Uruguay should be an excellent matchup. Easy winner in baseball last night. Long may it continue. Oakland (Kazmir) @ Mets (Colon) +117
1-0 for the World Cup as England did not advance. Kudos to anyone who had Costa Rica winning the group.
Bet of the year
And no, it’s not Ivory Coast -115 (which I like today)
It’s this below:
