Rebound

Tough last week but you can only win if you bet more!

NCAA:

Texas A&M v Miss State Over 68

UFC:

Vitor “The Phenom” Belfort vs Dan “Hendo” Henderson – Total Rounds 2.5 Over at -110

Thiago “Bodao” de Oliveira Perpetuo +160 (the fight is in Brazil…we like Brazilian underdog fighters fighting in Brazil)

NFL:

Teaser: Baltimore +1 and Under 44 (a hedge versus my Cincy win AFC North bet)

Dallas at New Orleans Over 54

Denver (-7) at San Diego, the Over 58, and both in teaser

Chicago (pick) vs Detroit

I now present the worst call of the year (even worse than the penalty kick Chelsea FC’s Ramires got today in the 94′ versus West Brom to salvage a 2-2 tie, thanks to a Eden Hazard PK):

Saturday

NCAA

Purdue +15.5 at home to Iowa

Kentucky +14.5 I am waffling on, but if there’s another tackle football game today for me, this will be it.

NHL will have to check in later.  There’s nothing right now.

UPDATE: Kentucky started already and I didn’t get a bet in.  I really thought it was a night game.

UPDATE #2: This is really ugly.  Florida +165 @ Ottawa.  Florida is winless in 7 and just got a new coach & Ottawa has been much improved of late.

Thursday

Today in gambling reminds me of our old Sports Trivia days, “Question 9: Sports!”

Hockey has one straightforward play tonight, Vancouver +156 @ San Jose.  Senators were a winner on Tuesday.

College tackle football, Stanford +10 -110 at home to Oregon

Lastly, in Professional tackle football, I have Minnesota +1 at home to Washington.

There is NBA tonight as well, but I do not yet know how to wager on it. :(

Good luck out there.

NCAA Football Plays

Two to start, more will follow.  A hot name in ACC football not playing for a marquee team is Michael Campanaro.  Apparently Wake Forest about 3.5 games into the season threw out their entire game plan and switched to a more aerial based attack and Campanaro has been doing just fine.  Syracuse is coming off a bye which is problematic on our end, but life isn’t perfect.  Purdue usually plays Ohio St tough.  That and an exciting QB prospect for Purdue, that’s where we’ll take our chances.

Wake Forest +4 106 @ Syracuse 18 Units

Ohio St @ Purdue +31.5 -104 17 Units

***UPDATE***

Ohio St pick was a dud, DOA.  Got a bit unlucky with Wake Forest, the poor bastard I wrote about above did something to his collarbone.  Forward.

Pitt @ Georgia Tech Under 52.5 -106 @ 18
Miami @ FSU Under 64 -106 @ 18

Saturday

How am I the one of the three of us betting on college football when most 12 year olds south of Maryland have more knowledge about the sport than I do?  Regardless, only one play today and it’s Arkansas, one of my least favorite institutions, +7.5 at home to Auburn.

No hockey today with the more restrictive system I put on.  Nashville would be on today otherwise.  1-1 yesterday and that makes me a small winner.

I don’t have anything in NFL at the moment and I’m not sure if I will be around for kickoff tomorrow.  Minnesota, Jets, St. Louis, Buffalo, Washington, Philly, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Houston are the options.  That’s obviously really broad for a reason as I haven’t looked in depth.  Sean’s play on the Bills would be much more appealing if they weren’t on QB3 or QB4.  It’s really hard to bet a future house on a third stringer, not that I wouldn’t do it in some circumstances.

Good luck to everyone.

Saturday Streaking

NCAA:

Texas A&M vs Vanderbilt Over 70

I’ve hit this 4 weeks in a row.  As long as Manizel plays….and we’re gambling.  Vandy also averages 33 points a game, and 37 at home.

UFC:

Ross “The Real Deal” Pearson +130

Lyoto ” The Dragon ” Machida wins by 5 round decision +195

NFL:

KC – 9 and Teaser with Under 39.5 vs CLE

Jason Campbell is starting for the Browns.  I had the displeasure of watching this guy in the second half of a Ravens game I bet on……the line was a sweat but with the way Campbell threw the ball (in the dirt): it wasn’t.  He’s awful.  If this were Weeden, I’d stay away…but we will take the points.

Dallas +3 + Over 48 Teaser @ DET

This should be a wild game full of mistakes.  Could turn out to be important in the wild card picture in the NFC

Denver/Washington Over 59

The Over in Denver’s games this year is 6-0-1 so far this year. Plus anytime I get to bet an over where D’Angelo Hall is involved, I jump in it.

New Orleans -11

Might also throw this in a teaser with GB (-10) at Minnesota.

I am also betting against Tampa Bay the rest of the year…….to put it bluntly, they hate their coach.  I put a hundo on the Panthers Thursday (who are playing really good ball right now) wit hthis logic in mind.   The only thing that stopped Cam Newton on Thursday night was the Bucs’ cannon:

NCAA Saturday

Loser in hockey again and even worse I misread my sheet and missed a +170 winner on the Islanders.  Hopefully it will get made up today…Again, the usual disclaimer, I have not and have no plans on watching any of these teams actually play.

Only 1 football game, Colorado +13

In the afternoon hockey game, Edmonton +145.  Jets and Rangers are on the short list for later tonight.

UPDATE: Rangers +170

Quick Hits

“Looooooooooots of action!” as Karna would say, trying to recover from a disastrous Thursday.

NCAA:

Texas A&M vs Auburn Over 72 (Manziel has been killing these overs.  A&M’s defense isn’t very good, either).

UFC:

Gabriel “Napao” Gonzaga +150 (Brazilian, fights out of Ludwig, MA.  Good veteran, has won last 3 fights by TKO.  Fighting Shawn Jordan, who used to play DT at LSU..athletic but raw talent who has won last 4 fights).

Andre “Touchy” Fili wins inside distance +125 (He’s a Duane “Bang” Ludwig Fighter….trains with Joseph Benedivdez, who is the #1 Featherweight in the world.  These guys at Team Alpha Male have been killing it recently).
NFL:
Detroit -3 (+105) vs Cincinnati (Hedge on my Cincy bet, and Detroit at home will always be able to move the ball with Bush And Megatron healthy.  I’d bet the over if Andy Dalton could actually be accurate with the ball).
Denver at Colts Over 57 (I think after the comments made by his former owner Jim Irsay made this week, Peyton Manning is going to hang a big crooked number just to remind him of how good he is.  Plus, Indy’s defense is struggling, especially vs the run.  That sets up PA).
Bears -1 at Washington R.G. Threes (I feel like this should be bigger).
Teaser: Packers (-10 vs CLE) + JAX (+9 vs SD) + DEN/IND Over 52

Saturday

Phoenix was a 3-2 loser last night.  Nothing in hockey today.  Some NCAA underdog plays:

Colorado St +6 -106
Kansas +22 -106
New Mexico St +18 -102
3-4 -1.22 to date

NCAA Play

Just one quick play.  I have…

Missouri +7 -104 @ Georgia

Georgia has a few people out today and Missouri is sneaky good.  Even though Georgia can score in bunches I think I have more faith in the Missouri offense at this exact nanosecond.  And also a touchdown line in this game is about the most unimaginative thing Vegas could have thrown out here.  I mean put some effort into it!
