That is a quote from Andre Drummond after the Hawks/Pistons’ game a few nights ago. Drummond had a big night and the marque play of the game. The article goes on to note that the “Detroit big man finished 0 for 8 on free throws.” They wanted it so bad, Detroit wasn’t going to take the Hawks’ charity.
The win “snapped Detroit’s three-game losing streak and handed Atlanta its eighth straight loss.” The menu tonight in the NBA is pretty horrific. If we are to believe that in every NBA game there are experiences that could later be mistaken for quotes from Normandy survivors, nights like tonight put the League to the ultimate test. I am a sick person so there is a big part of me that wants to bet on the Milwaukee/Philly game, but I just don’t know what the Hell to do.

Struggles for us in NCAAM continue. Last night was semi-brutal. We had Brown @ +3.5 and the score was Princeton 65 Brown 64 with 4 seconds to go. First, the obvious…Pat, what the Hell are you doing betting on Ivy League basketball. OK, that’s out of the way. Second, the only way we lose in this scenario is exactly how things play out, with everything hinging on Princeton being smart enough to foul Brown instead of letting them chuck up a desperation 3. Nauseating. You haven’t reached levels of pathetic gambling degeneracy until you are watching the live ticker on an Ivy League basketball game because the game is so obscure there isnt even an illegal internet feed.

I turned on the telecast at one point roughly 1/3 of the way into the second half. The commentator noted that South Florida since halftime had made only 2 shots. One was a free throw, the other was goaltending against UConn. Only like one game in the 7 o’clocks.

Good news/Bad news from our soccer picks this afternoon. Bad news – we could not have been more wrong in regards to Arsenal/Man U. I would have thought considering their respective positions both teams would have been a lot more attack-minded but both were more cautious than anything. In the Tott game we got a bit unlucky. With the score 2-nil Tott we have got several squares covered in terms of possible final scores. Unfortunately none hit. Good news – Hey, we just made 4 bets, went 0-4, and we’re only in the hole 33? Sidney Crosby high goal scorer 13/2 @ 9 Ovechkin is the favorite @ 5/1 but he’s been nicked up recently so we’ll go with The Kid. We pushed last night on our Clemson play. It took the 2 teams 50 minutes to crack 130 and a lot of that has to do with Clemson’s defense, which is up amongst the best this year. Clemson/Notre Dame was one of only 2 college games last night without an O/U. I think the idea is that if Vegas put out a number it seriously believed in it would have been like 110.5 and they would have gotten raped on a weird result like the one that happened. Vegas, not so much a step ahead, as always covering its ass.

Soccer
The most interesting game of the day is Tottenham at home to Man City. The power of Gambling Christ compels me to bet Tottenham based solely on their odds. At 3 to 1 to win at home, I have to make a small bet, and at essentially even money on a draw or better, the play has to be made. They are simply playing too well, I have to almost ignore Man City’s great form. Logic would dictate that if you are going to bet Tott you may as well bet the over because Man City will likely get theirs. I will pass on this play but I think it is a decent one. Let’s take a peak at other lines…I am surprised at how decent a favorite Sunderland is but I will pass. What intrigues me is West Ham getting 2 goals with a healthy Andy Carroll and Villa.
