Just covered my Sweden over with Pat with 11:45 to go in the 2nd period. The 4.5 line was so bad I was immediately suspicious of some kind of fix or other information I wasn’t privy to. I’ve never seen an NHL line below 5 and Sweden is a medal favorite.
Also won the Men’s Luge Doubles play I posted in the comments last night for another small win. The two guys who won were 6 for 8 on wins for the season in 2013, winning their first six in a row and basically taking the last two races off. Seemed good enough to me at -310, though those kind of bets can be dangerous.
No curling plays yet. I’ve been studying the totals for these teams which seem to always bet set at 12.5
UPDATE: 4-2 Sean covers too!
Olympics
Couple of hockey plays. The first I am the house. I do not count these towards my YTD.
Sweden/Czech over 4.5 -125 @ 12.5 (I am the Under)
Louis seems to have stumbled upon a flaw in The Matrix with this line but we will see what happens.
Sidney Crosby high goal scorer 13/2 @ 9 Ovechkin is the favorite @ 5/1 but he’s been nicked up recently so we’ll go with The Kid. We pushed last night on our Clemson play. It took the 2 teams 50 minutes to crack 130 and a lot of that has to do with Clemson’s defense, which is up amongst the best this year. Clemson/Notre Dame was one of only 2 college games last night without an O/U. I think the idea is that if Vegas put out a number it seriously believed in it would have been like 110.5 and they would have gotten raped on a weird result like the one that happened. Vegas, not so much a step ahead, as always covering its ass.

YTD -42.07
Side Note, Lorenzen is obviously a Chunky Monkey. But I argue that the football acts as an optical illusion. If he was an O-Line Man, you would not look twice. The second he gets the ball hiked to him he instantly gains 45 pounds.
Over Czech
Small play today on Czech Rep v Sweden Men’s Hockey Over 5.5 (-105).
I also have Jared Lorenzen over 3.5 hot dogs today on his couch:

NCAAM
Clemson +4 -102 @ Notre Dame @ 14
Notre Dame could very easily be 1-10 in conference right now.

YTD : -42.07
Finally
This week has been barren and deserted for any plays in both NBA and NHL. I should have been posting my leans which have been breakeven or so but work got in the way. Regardless there hasn’t been much. One play so far today: Ottawa +150 @ Boston. There might be more in the night games but it’s too early to tell.
Saturday Stuff
Colorado at NY Islanders Over 5.5 (-115)
DET (+105) at TB
Toronto -1.5 (+200) vs VAN

Set it and Forget it Bets
That’s basically what West Coast bets are….especially to us folk who got to wake up in the A.M. It’s also what makes Vegas so dangerous (you can get a full slate of degeneracy in before 10 and then hit up some Steak and Eggs at Bill’s for $6. FROM WHAT I HEAR).
We like tonight:
Dallas (+155) at SJ (Lou Special)
Miami Heat (PK) at LAC (LeBron James in a pick’em? #whynot)
BTW the Cavs lost to the Lakers, 119-108….the same Lakers who dressed only 8 players tonight, and only 5 players in the 4th Quarter.
That’s right, 5 players.
The Lakers’ Robert Sacre fouled out but since the Lakers didn’t have anyone to replace him, he had to stay on the floor after a Technical Foul, and LA would be given a Tech for every foul he committed thereafter. The Cavs shouldn’t feel bad, as they are the worst power play team in the league behind the New York Rangers.
Amazing hilarity.
This pic of Pat Darts……erm……Chris Kaman (who fouled out after 14 minutes!)….. says it all:

Wednesday
Our leaner and coinflip on the Islanders was a winner last night, though the real losers weren’t the capitals, but the fans:
WASHINGTON — The left half of the net was wide open for Troy Brouwer. When he missed badly, putting his shot wide, he was so exasperated that he slumped his shoulders and looked to the rafters as play continued.
It was that kind of game for both the Washington Capitals and New York Islanders, who seemingly tried to top each other in finding the best way to waste a scoring chance. Players whiffed on open one-timers, several shots hit the goal frame and all 11 power plays had fruitless outcomes.
I was following along while travelling last night and couldn’t figure out how the game was 0-0 after two periods. Any given Sunday and all that. Not much doing in hockey tonight since it’s a Wednesday. Dallas is the closest thing we have going but even that is a stretch at San Jose with their backup goalie on a back-to-back. Nothing in NBA tonight either. I am ready for baseball to start.
Last Week of Hockey
NHL style. Islanders are the play tonight but I am passing since they have lost 6 or 7 in a row but you adventurous types feel free to have a go. Plus lots of units on Seattle Sunday.
