NCAAM

Mixed bag yesterday.  Only 2 games today.  I really like the Northwestern game, Minnesota seems to me a sneaky bad 16 win team.  Good luck.

Minnesota @ Northwestern +4 -110 @ 26

Georgetown @ St Johns -4.5 -102 @ 14

MTD : -76.33

YTD : -118.40

NCAAM

Struggles for us in NCAAM continue.  Last night was semi-brutal.  We had Brown @ +3.5 and the score was Princeton 65 Brown 64 with 4 seconds to go.  First, the obvious…Pat, what the Hell are you doing betting on Ivy League basketball.  OK, that’s out of the way.  Second, the only way we lose in this scenario is exactly how things play out, with everything hinging on Princeton being smart enough to foul Brown instead of letting them chuck up a desperation 3.  Nauseating.  You haven’t reached levels of pathetic gambling degeneracy until you are watching the live ticker on an Ivy League basketball game because the game is so obscure there isnt even an illegal internet feed.

Mississippi St +11 -102 @ Auburn @ 13

***UPDATE***

More picks.  I’m more due than a chick 10 months pregnant.  All bets @ 16.

Having a good stretch.  These will be my last few picks for the day.  See if the good times keep rollin’.  Bets @ 15.

FSU @ Wake Forest +1.5 -102

Morehead St @ Tennessee Tech +1.5 -106

Another mixed bag of results for NCAAM last night.  Seton Hall covering by .5 point kept the night from sliding completely out of control.  Light schedule as per ush on Friday.  Only like one game this evening which I’ll put a little added mustard on.  Good luck out there.

Princeton @ Brown +3.5 -102 @ 22

MTD : -65.86

YTD : -107.93

There are plays, there are mediocre plays, there are bad plays, there are horrific plays, and there are whatever South Florida did last night against UConn plays.  I turned on the telecast at one point roughly 1/3 of the way into the second half.  The commentator noted that South Florida since halftime had made only 2 shots.  One was a free throw, the other was goaltending against UConn.  Only like one game in the 7 o’clocks.

Manhattan @ Rider +3.5 -106 @ 14

Will likely add onto this as evening progresses.

MTD : -49.37

YTD : -91.44

Good news/Bad news from our soccer picks this afternoon.  Bad news – we could not have been more wrong in regards to Arsenal/Man U.  I would have thought considering their respective positions both teams would have been a lot more attack-minded but both were more cautious than anything.  In the Tott game we got a bit unlucky.  With the score 2-nil Tott we have got several squares covered in terms of possible final scores.  Unfortunately none hit.  Good news – Hey, we just made 4 bets, went 0-4, and we’re only in the hole 33?  Are you kidding me?  What am I, 14 years old?  Forward!  All plays @ 14.

Nova @ Depaul +13.5 -106

Eastern Michigan @ Ball St +5.5 -102

Akron @ West Michigan -1.5 -106

South Florida +14.5 -112 @ UConn

St Bon @ Fordham +6.5 -109

Stanford @ Washington +2.5 -106

Tenn Martin +11.5 -106 @ SE Mizzu St

NCAAM

Clemson +4 -102 @ Notre Dame @ 14

Notre Dame could very easily be 1-10 in conference right now.

Set it and Forget it Bets

That’s basically what West Coast bets are….especially to us folk who got to wake up in the A.M. It’s also what makes Vegas so dangerous (you can get a full slate of degeneracy in before 10 and then hit up some Steak and Eggs at Bill’s for $6. FROM WHAT I HEAR).

We like tonight:

Dallas (+155) at SJ (Lou Special)

Miami Heat (PK) at LAC (LeBron James in a pick’em? #whynot)

BTW the Cavs lost to the Lakers, 119-108….the same Lakers who dressed only 8 players tonight, and only 5 players in the 4th Quarter.

That’s right, 5 players.

The Lakers’ Robert Sacre fouled out but since the Lakers didn’t have anyone to replace him, he had to stay on the floor after a Technical Foul, and LA would be given a Tech for every foul he committed thereafter.  The Cavs shouldn’t feel bad, as they are the worst power play team in the league behind the New York Rangers.

Amazing hilarity.

This pic of Pat Darts……erm……Chris Kaman (who fouled out after 14 minutes!)….. says it all:

Kaman coming off of Executive Game weekend

Wednesday

Our leaner and coinflip on the Islanders was a winner last night, though the real losers weren’t the capitals, but the fans:

WASHINGTON — The left half of the net was wide open for Troy Brouwer. When he missed badly, putting his shot wide, he was so exasperated that he slumped his shoulders and looked to the rafters as play continued.

It was that kind of game for both the Washington Capitals and New York Islanders, who seemingly tried to top each other in finding the best way to waste a scoring chance. Players whiffed on open one-timers, several shots hit the goal frame and all 11 power plays had fruitless outcomes.

I was following along while travelling last night and couldn’t figure out how the game was 0-0 after two periods.  Any given Sunday and all that.  Not much doing in hockey tonight since it’s a Wednesday.  Dallas is the closest thing we have going but even that is a stretch at San Jose with their backup goalie on a back-to-back.  Nothing in NBA tonight either.  I am ready for baseball to start.

Executive Decisions

NCAA: UCONN -13 vs Houston

Teaser: UCONN -13 and LA Clippers at Golden State Over 213

Super Bowl stuff later in the week*

*Preview: I’m taking Pete Carroll to beat Peyton Manning in a big game and I am completely fucking terrified.

Thursday

Nothing doing yesterday but our leaner on the Islanders lost 2-1. Getting plays in early tonight:

NHL: Florida +138 @ Toronto.  Adventurous folks can try Montreal +175 @ Boston but I will not be joining you.

NBA: To be confirmed, but likely Cleveland +6 @ the Knicks who I continue to fade.
