Friday
Losers all around as the Coyotes lost 5-3 in Calgary and Philadelphia lost by 53. The good news is they were only 39 points away from covering. Southern Miss was a winner for anyone who played it. One NBA option tonight and that’s Miami I think away to Atlanta. Hockey options are the Islanders and New Jersey. I’ll wait on line moves and the like and update if there’s a play around 7. I’ll guess that New York will probably end up being a pass and New Jersey a play.
Two college football unders I wanted to post since I’ve put them down already:
Nebraska/Wisconsin UNDER 57
Georgia Southern/Navy UNDER 63
Thirsty Thursday
Detroit was a winner yesterday as our microscopic plays on the NBA continue. I’m even dipping my feet into the college football world these days despite not being able to name any players from either teams of the games I pick. Ignorance at its finest. I have a lean but not a play tonight on Southern Miss +7 traveling to someplace called UTSA. No idea where that is.
I won’t be around to update NBA, but I’ll be taking Philadelphia +14 if I can find it (currently at 13.5). Lastly a confirmed hockey play Phoenix +125 @ Calgary
Wednesday
Another apology from me not getting Florida up until very late as they cruised to a 4-1 win. Dallas was also a dramatic winner so hopefully some of you were at least able to hop on that play. Sacramento was a push in NBA. Not much doing tonight with Toronto a notable pass at home to Boston. We do have one NBA play, whatever that’s worth, Detroit +6.5 @ Washington
Tuesday Leans
2-0 with betting this Celtics Over theory so far, still under 200 so going with it again tonight Over at 197 (-115) vs OKC
Also have an early NFL lean: took Broncos -10 at EVEN on Monday; Shaun Hill has been named the starter (whoo hoo!) so I now love the Broncos here (line is +9 on pinnacle, great news if I can get this on Bovada). The only results I see on this game are Broncos by 2 TDs or more…..or a Rams win (they do have a good defense but Shaun Hill does suck). So if you lean St. Louis, take the ML IMO.
AND BTW, this line is for Pat:
Tuesday
Apologies for the late post. At least one play here tonight and it starts very soon:
San Jose @ Florida +140
There should be one more hockey game and possibly an NBA game later
NBA: I am in agreement with Pat on this one and that’s a bit scary. Sacramento +8 @ Dallas
NHL: Dallas -115 @ Arizona
Professional Hockey and Basketball
Wagers for the evening. Basketball WTFK, hockey I will try to justify my decisions based on the twenty something minutes I read the Hockey News site today…
Magic +11 -110 @ 19
Kings +7.5 -105 @ 19
All plays @ 15
Winnipeg +131
Do I remember the name of the Jets goalie off the top of my head? No I dont, but I wrote down that he is playing very well recently. Montreal has not led a single game this year after the first period.
Sharks/Panthers Under 5 +118
Sharks are in the middle of a long road trip. Combined with the Panthers having Luongo and the fact that they seem scoring challenged…
Lightning/Blackhawks Over 5.5 +102
Both teams seem to be firing offensively recently.
Stars/Coyotes Under 5.5 -119
My lone note here was Arizona – hot goalie. Jpeg or recent form?
Ottawa +140
Most of the public money is on the Canucks for this one, and I bet a solid amount of people who did that had the thought that this was a pretty even match-up but Vancouver is at home so f@#% it. Let’s go the other way.
Saturday Night Leans
NCAA:
Kansas St vs TCU Over 59
UFC:
Wagner Silva +400
Boxing:
Hopkins vs Kovalev Going the Distance +250
NBA:
BOS at CHI Over 194
Celtic Overs
I am in agreement with Bill Simmons that the C’s run-and-gun tempo attempt is very entertaining to watch (although they aren’t winning games, so frustrating as a fan). They only missed the over in Houston because they were 1-for-20 from three point land, but have hit 75% of the overs in their games so far. Going to experiment tonight with the Over vs Indiana at 191.
MMA Bonus:
Rockhold v Bisping Goes the distance +155
Friday
Early post as I’m traveling later today. 1-1 yesterday as Florida lost and Vancouver won. To Sean’s point yesterday, I did know Florida has been excellent defensively in 5-on-5 play, but unfortunately they are last in the league in goals with 16 in 11 games. Their coach summarized for us:
We just weren’t sharp enough, we weren’t hungry enough and we didn’t battle enough.
There’s a joke about talent in there somewhere. Winnipeg lost in a shootout to Pittsburgh 4-3 and in the late game, Vancouver held on to win by about a second (Skip to 4:30 if the video doesn’t start there)
Options tonight are limited. Devils on a back-to-back are in Detroit and Indiana is an option for sadists at Boston in NBA.
UPDATE: Devils +155 and Pacers +5.5
Wednesday
1-1 and breakeven in our hockey plays last night as Edmonton was beaten easily with a backup goaltender and a few forwards out and Phoenix held on to win 3-2 over Toronto. The Suns won by 6 and I lost with a bad line. For the few people who asked there probably won’t be more than 20-30 NBA plays for the entire season and I’m using small amounts on top of that. Nowhere near our hockey bet sizes.
Nothing doing on the 3 NHL games. One NBA possibility late tonight; I’ll try and remember to update
UPDATE: Denver +3.5 and +150
