NHL 10.30

BOS v FLA over 5 (-125)

The over has hit un all of the Bruins games so far. This moved down from 5.5 to 5 so we are gonna try and ride the wave tonight.

NBA Bonus:

Celtics vs Raptors over 200 (-110)

Prop Bet 10.29

I found a prop for tonight: Danny Amendola Over catches 3.5 -130. He’s caught 9 balls the last two games for over 190 yards and 2 touchdowns. As long as Gronk/Edleman are healthy, he’ll get one on one vs some shitty 4th string CB and will take advantage, especially with Brady throwing like he is. Miami also pretty porous vs the pass, personnel wise, and due to injuries in the Pats’ OLine, I expect Brady to throw the ball early and often to beat the pass rush getting there tonight, so Amendola should get a lot of opportunities as the coverage will rotate vs Gronk/Edleman.

Here’s the action numbers on tonight’s game:

NHL Bonus:

CHI @ WIN Over 5 (-115)

Celtics Over(s)time

Celtics/Sixers Over 198 (-115)

Hit this 12/13 times last year, including 9 in a row. I expect the Celtics to push the ball and score a lot in their games this year, barring injury (which derailed them in the middle of the year. They trade Rondo and they got better a month later). The Sixers are young and don’t score alot but it’s not like the Celtics defend all that well, either.

Minnesota +3.5 @ LA Lakers (-115)

Flip Saunders, who was supposed to coach this year but resigned due to cancer, unfortunately died earlier this week. He was the only good coach they have ever had (even if, in terms of coaches in general, he was average) and the team was jilted by this; I expect a response especially from Kevin Garnett, who was with Flip early in his career. And the Lakers are fucking awful.

MLB BONUS:

NYM/KC Over 7 (-120)

World Series Thoughts

I don’t like either team for a series price (or length of series), but if you can find any price over +100 with either team, you are getting better than 50% of essentially what is a coin flip.

In terms of just my thoughts on who I think will win, I have to say I favor the Mets just because they have the better starting pitching that is also on a heater. It’s why the Giants won last year and they only really had one guy. Can Murphy keep hitting a HR per game? The long layoff might effect that. But he is +400 to win MVP as the favorite and honestly, the way he is going, that sounds about right.

KC is a better overall team with middle relief, 7-8-9 hitters, and home field. But better teams don’t decide series, better pitching does. And the Mets have the better starters and closer. The managers in both of these games can make cringe worthy decisions at times, and really will start the conversation for next year: “Maybe robots could do better at this managing baseball stuff”. Side note – the ASG deciding the home field in the championship series is dumb.

I mean, in football for example….who would show more emotion on the sideline: a robot or Jim Caldwell? The players would probably prefer to run through a wall for the robot more, as he could also charge their cell phones for after the game.

As for tonight, I like the Under at 7 (EVEN). Matt Harvey is 3-0 lifetime when he gets more than 9 days of rest, with a era of 2.75. Volquez is KC’s best starter. Weather also will be in the 50s with light rain.

NFL Week 8

ATL -7

NCAA 10.24

Utah +140 and TEASER: UTAH +3 and Under 60

Clemson/Miami Under 56.5

Royals Flush

Betting on the Royals has done me well this post season…..and we get odds on them tonight as the play is Royals +118 at home for Game 6. This bet is part of a hedge as well, as if this series does go 7, we hit 2 out of the 3 props we took before the series: 7 games at +180 and KC in 7 +425 OR Toronto in 7 +475

NHL Wednesday

BOS v PHI Over 5 (-145)

Lost my first baseball game in the playoffs yesterday..we are 6-1-1 this post season, but that doesn’t count the hedge I immediately threw into live betting when LaTroy “Old as Balls” Hawkins came in the 7th inning. The Blue Jays pitching got so bad, they actually had to use a position pitcher, who told catcher Russell Martin he had a “fastball, change, curve, and slider”. Maybe they should of put him in the 7th inning.

BTW if you are interested: the Cubs at +1000 to win the series vs the Mets.

Great article from David Wayne Perdum about the MSU v UM miracle finish on Saturday:

At the Mirage sportsbook, Jay Rood, vice president of MGM race and sports, heard the crowd erupt all the way in the back office. ESPN.com’s Andrew Feldman was on the scene and joked that, judging by the crowd’s reaction, he was one of five Michigan fans in the room at the Mirage. The rest were Spartan supporters, some more heavily invested than others. A $20,000 money-line bet on Michigan State paid around $50,000, in addition to multiple four- and five-figure money-line bets on the Spartans, and took a significant chunk out of the book’s bottom line on Saturday.
